Group on Endocrine Disrupters
In 2008 the present National Committee for Biosafety, Biotechnology and Life Sciences formed a new working group to identify priorities and objectives for an “environment and health” project platform that would focus on the assessment and management of hazards associated with endocrine disrupters (EDs) and that could be adopted as a model also for other emerging contaminants.
The Purposes of Working Group are:
Elaborating guidelines finalized to the prevention as well as the development of sustainable activities of production;
Promoting and integrating innovative research approaches in biotechnology, finalized to the evaluation of risks-benefits in the prevention of any food and environmental risks due to endocrine disrupters (EDs) and other contaminants.
